Levi has opened his first restaurant, located at Westfield Stratford City, in partnership with Eren Ali, co-founder of Las Iguanas.
Levi Roots’ Caribbean Smokehouse brings authentic Caribbean cuisine to life, making it accessible to everyone, and has been spearheaded by a team with unrivalled experience in creating premium everyday dining. Levi and Eren have worked closely together to develop the concept and he explains: “I know Caribbean cuisine and Eren knows how to create successful dining experiences. It feels like the perfect partnership.” They have brought in Steve Phillips, previously of Gourmet Burger Kitchen, as Head of Operations.
The Levi Roots brand now spans a broad range of grocery categories with more than 50 products in the portfolio, proof of the consumer appetite for Caribbean cuisine and flavours. Levi has felt for some time that the next natural step was a dining experience.
Levi has said, “Since the initial success of Reggae Reggae Sauce on Dragons’ Den I’ve wanted to bring the tastes of the Caribbean to as many people as possible. Now that we have built such a strong reputation for the “Levi Roots” brand, it feels like the right time for me to open a restaurant to give even more people the opportunity to enjoy genuine Caribbean cooking.”
